Photovoltaic Yield Reports

Sound yield reports for planning and evaluating of photovoltaic systems

For more than 15 years we have been calculating the expected specific yield of PV systems.  In the meantime, we have prepared over 3,200 bankable yield reports for our clients for PV projects worldwide with a total output of over 30 GWp. In this context, 'bankable' means that our PV yield reports (photovoltaic yield reports) are accepted by banks and can therefore be used as a basis for financing requests.

Based on precise weather and irradiation data and taking into account local conditions, we determine the long-term energy yield of your PV system. We also incorporate our own calculations based on our many years of experience and analysis of real yield data. Like most recognized experts, we use the simulation software PVsyst for this purpose. PV yield reports provide a reliable forecast of the expected yield of the PV systems and thus ensure, among other things, easier financing approval from investors and banks.

Professional and independent PV yield reports: Your benefits

  • Faster and easier financing commitment from investors and banks worldwide
  • Reliable forecasting of system performance, taking into account specific location factors
  • Planning security for investors due to realistic assessment of the expected yield
  • Reliable PV yield reports due to validation based on real operating data

What services do meteocontrol's photovoltaic yield reports include?

  • Procurement of irradiation data from at least two independent sources (long-term monthly averages)
  • Conversion of monthly averages into hourly values using the synthesis method
  • Consideration of local conditions (e.g. snow and shading objects)
  • Consideration of the specific system configuration
  • Detailed time-step simulations for each sub-system
  • Summarizing photovoltaic yield report
  • Specification of confidence interval and P-quantiles (P50, P75, P90)
  • Personal contact person
  • Technical advice on system planning from our experts

Plant-specific pv production profiles for Power Purchase Agreements

Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) have become increasingly important in recent years iwith regard to solar power trading. They are more than just an alternative to the previous "classic" feed-in tariffs – for example under the German Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG).

In the PPA tendering process, particular emphasis is often placed on an appropriate hour-based profile. We are happy to support you with our independent team of experts by creating project-specific PV power generation profiles – also known as 8760 h profiles. Creating a project-specific hour-based profile is only possible in combination with a 'bankable' PV yield report or a yield estimate.

Services

  • Creation of project-specific power generation profiles (8760 h profiles) for PV power trading in PPAs in combination with a bankable photovoltaic yield report

Irradiation report

Evaluation of site-specific irradiation data

Irradiation reports form the basis for further calculations, such as yield reports. We evaluate different sources of irradiation for your specific site even during the early planning stages.

Professional and independent irradiation reports: Your benefits

  • Precise long-term irradiation data worldwide
  • Many years of experience in analyzing weather data
  • Basis for further calculations (e.g. yield reports)

What services do meteocontrol's irradiation reports include?

  • Procurement of irradiation data from various sources (long-term monthly averages)
  • Comparison and evaluation of the different sources
  • Selection of a source or calculation of a weighted average value
  • Calculation of module-level irradiation
  • Summarizing report

Yield loss calculations

The yield loss for a specific period can be calculated if a system was not in operation as planned. Reasons could include a delay in connecting to the grid or a prolonged system outage.

  • Calculation of the potential system yield based on the system configuration and weather data for the period under review
  • Summarizing report stating the yield loss
