Solar park Holzgünz-Schwaighausen
This solar park is located between the Memmingen-Munich railroad line and the A96 highway, south of the village of Schwaighausen in the Unterallgäu district of Bavaria. With an area of approximately eight hectares and comprising more than 17,000 bifacial solar modules, the solar park supplies 10.5 million kilowatt hours annually. Each year, 2,500 four-person households are supplied with power, saving more than 6,000 tons of CO2. To date, it is the largest free-field system operated by VenSol Neue Energien GmbH.
The community of Holzgünz benefits directly from the new energy project. In addition to the usual business tax, the municipality receives €0.2 cents in financial participation from each kilowatt hour of solar power generated. In the future, the local energy cooperative BürgerEnergie HoSchMi eG will take over one part of the plant and operate it together with local residents.
During the construction phase, meteocontrol evaluated and monitored the quantitative progress as well as the quality of the construction of the solar park as an independent consultant. With the help of the on-site construction supervision by meteocontrol, transparent communication between the investor, the expert and the installer could also be ensured, enabling the solar park to be commissioned as planned.
Before the solar park passed technical inspection, experienced engineers from meteocontrol performed an on-site technical and overall safety inspection of the entire system in order to identify possible defects. With the results from the technical inspection, VenSol was able to ensure the quality and safe operation of the Holzgünz-Schwaighausen solar park.
I am very satisfied with the cooperation with meteocontrol on our projects so far. Not only have they ensured that the quality of the solar park will guarantee long-term and successful operation, but they have also been able to respond flexibly and at short notice to our requirements. Our projects in the field of free-field photovoltaics are located exclusively in the Bavarian-Swabian region, which is why we greatly appreciate the proximity of meteocontrol as a regional partner. We are looking forward to the next joint projects.
